Water Baptism

Why get baptized?

Water Baptism is an important and necessary "next step" in the life and development of a Christian.  It is not something we do if or when we feel like we are ready, but rather something we do out of obedience to the command of Jesus Christ, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19).  In salvation, God offers to adopt us into His family through faith in His son Jesus Christ.  In water baptism, we demonstrate the evidence that we want to accept God's offer and belong to His family.  "What are you waiting for?  Get up and be baptized.  Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord" (Acts 22:16).

Water Baptism Orientation

Before you can get baptized you must attend a water baptism orientation.  This short class will fully explain what it means to be baptized and how you can continue to grow in Christ.  The next orientation is Sunday October 25th from 9am-10am in the Youth Room (Lower Level).  Water Baptisms will take place on November 8th.  You will get to choose during which service you will be baptized.
